After posting so many pictures of other people and their kids, I thought it was about time to post some of my own boy. It's been a while since we've seen much of him on the ol' blog. I've been taking him with me on most of my photo shoots to help with holding scrims, fetching stuff out of the car and getting little kids to laugh. He's a handy guy to have around.
The other night, I took him to Josh and Marla's session and was thinking how handsome he looked, so I took a few of him while we were at it. I'd just cut his hair the night before and he had on a clean shirt - sometimes you just gotta seize the day, strike while the iron is hot, a bird in the hand.... well, you get the picture.
Anyhoo, I'm so glad I took these because they turned out nice and I hardly have any good pictures of him. He's usually not cooperative like his sister. Heck, lets face it, NO ONE on the planet is as happy to get her pictures taken as his sister.
I'm not only glad to have some nice recent pics of him, but it makes my day to show him one of the photos and go, "Look son, aren't you soooo handsome!" He gets so embarrassed, it's so cute.
In fact, this is a little like the face I get when I say it:
(The colors are off on these photos when I pull them into blogger for some reason today. I have two windows open next to each other - Photoshop and this one - and they don't look the same at all. These are too gray or something. Weird. Help? Nan? Anyone?)
Anyway, I told him today that when I was pregnant with him and I went in for my ultrasound, the technician asked me what I wanted and I said a boy with a cleft in his chin and we laughed about trying to see one on the ultrasound picture. But that's exactly what I got.
Jaxon told me today that he didn't like his cleft chin, which I'd never heard him say before, and I told him that it was his movie star chin. It's also one of the things that I love best about his dad's face - only Dad's is deeper, my genes must have diluted it some.
I sure love this handsome boy -- the nice thing is, he's a good boy too.
