Mitch and Lydia - Engagement Session

Ah, young love!

I remember so well what it was like to be newly in love and engaged. I had a blast photographing these two and it totally brought it all back for me.

And what a gorgeous couple!

I can't decide who is better looking....

Him:

or her:

Yep, I figured it out - - both!

I just realized that everywhere we took photos was old - old cars:

old tractors:

And an old, old house:

You gotta love old stuff and new love together - a great combination.

And my favorite shot of the day - fun with an old phone:

Is that cute, or what?

Brothers are the Best

My friend Alice has the cutest little boys - they don't look alike, (at least I don't think they do) act alike, or like the same kinds of things - but they are glad to have each other.

And they are both adorable!

And lots of fun!

We've been talking for a while about doing this, and I was excited to get my lens on these two. We finally made it happen a few weeks ago, but I've been so swamped lately that I just haven't gotten them up on the blog until now.

We took them down to an old barn on a friend's property - great backdrop for boy portraits

Chandler has amazing blue eyes...

And his little brother, Bryson's are hazeley brown - so pretty.

We had some fun by a HUGE old cottonwood tree....

And down by the creek....

And then Mom made them get into their Sunday-go-to-meetin' clothes. What a mean mom!

Someday, they'll look back on these and realize how handsome they were all duded up. Don't you think? Maybe they'll never appreciate it, but someday their wives will. :)

Thanks, Alice, for letting me hang out with you guys for the afternoon. Let's do it again sometime!

13 Lucky Years

Yesterday was my 13th wedding anniversary. And I still like him soooooooooooo much. And I still think he's very, very cute. Thank goodness.

I saw a poem on Pioneer Woman once that she'd written about her husband. I'm going to try to write one like it for my sweetheart here:

Him:

the father of my children
the keeper of my heart
the stealer of my La-Z-Boy
the appreciator of my cooking
the grabber of my heiney
the folder of my laundry
the hauler of my hay
the driver of my crazy
the kisser of my lips
the snorer in my bed
the igniter of my passions
the shoer of my horses
the builder of my fires
the companion of my eternities
the love of my life

Amen.

I think one of the best things about him is that he is someone I respect, admire, and want to be more like. And thankfully, after 13 years, apparently, he still likes me too.

There's nothing more beautiful than a sleeping baby.

My good friend Deanna had her 4th baby not too long ago and we got to take her portraits the other day. Everytime I've ever seen this little lassie, she's been asleep, but her mother says she's quite alert during the night.

(As baby hungry as I get sometimes, I sure don't miss that part.)

But she's just so sweet. I was loving the black and whites from this session, so here are a few:

sleeping......

sleeping.....

sleeping.....

still sleeping.....

sweet sleeping feet....

And then she finally woke up just long enough to hold Mom's finger and cuddle a little....

She even slept through big sister's cuddling.

Amazing. I did NOT have one of those sleeping kind of babies.

She also has 2 big brothers who love her very much. But her big sister, from all accounts, just REALLY loves her and wants to hold her all the time. Maybe she's just so darn happy she didn't get another brother.

Thanks, Dee, for letting me play with her for a while. If you ever want to drop her by - while she's sleeping - I'd be glad to cuddle with her for an hour or two.

He Lives!

Happy Easter!
